BURNING of leaves is allowed only between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. 7 days per week in residential areas where homes are less than 300' apart. Please be considerate of your neighbors when burning leaves. It is unlawful to burn paper or other manmade materials at any time. Large burning projects (fields) must contact the Fire Dept. for a burning permit. IMPORTANT RECYCLING NEWS: Your recycling is picked up each week on the same day as your garbage. Recycling in plastic bags will not be accepted. All recyclables must be placed in a recycling container. When putting your garbage and recycling out, separate the garbage containers from the recycling containers! You can use any reusable container that meets these requirements: 1) 15 to 33 gallons with handles, 2) not exceeding 50# 3) identify with purple recycling decal available free at the Town Hall. County E. This site is for grass clippings and brush only.
Root balls and garden waste will not be accepted. These and
other items must be taken to the County landfill. Contact the Outagamie County landfill with questions on other items at 1-800-501-1616 or you can check their website at www.co.outagamie.wi.us. Click on "Departments" and then on "Recycling/Hazardous". DOG LICENSE are required in Freedom. Licenses run from January 1 thru December 31. Dog License can be purchased during normal office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday thru Thursday. You will need a current certificate of rabies vaccination to obtain a dog license.. Fees: Neutered or Spayed $10.00 Male or Female $15.00. There will be a $5.00 late fee for dogs not licensed by April 1 and possibly a $25.00 fine. Call the Town Hall for more information (788-4548). The Town has an ordinance requiring that all dogs be licensed and kept on a leash or under owner control at all times. Also, you are responsible for picking up after your dog when out walking or you may be fined. PARKING REGULATIONS - No parking in TOWN PARKING LOTS between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. Violators will be ticketed and/or towed. THE FREEDOM FOOD PANTRY is now in operation. Non perishable food items can be dropped off at the Town Hall, Freedom Food Store, or any one of the local Churches.
